A Guy Walks Into My Bar

Hello there bookworms! Happy Sunday and long time, no see. To be consistent, life continues to be crazy. I feel like I blink and weeks/months go by. My reading, writing, and sleep schedules are all out of whack, so lately I just take it a day at a time and do what I can to keep on top of everything. Until more hours are added to our days, what else can you do?

Anyway, Thanks to being back in the office one day a week, I do get that day to plow through audible stories while I’m working. I have a couple up on deck to share with you, so let’s get started today with A Guy Walks Into My Bar by Lauren Blakely.

A sexy, passionate, utterly addictive standalone MM romance from #1 NYT Bestseller Lauren Blakely!

Every bartender should follow one simple rule—don’t go home with the customers.

That’s been easy for me to stick to, until the night a cocky, confident, and sinfully charming hockey star walks into my bar. This sexy athlete is too hard to resist, especially when he makes it clear how much he wants the “sarcastic, witty, hot AF” guy behind the bar—also known as me.

Still, I’m not keen on breaking my own rules since I know where that can lead—no place good.

But when that man makes his case with one bone-searing kiss on the streets of London, I throw resistance out the window.

What could go wrong with a hot, dirty, no-strings-attached fling before he leaves town in five days?

Trouble is, soon our nights together lead to days, to long conversations, to getting to know each other, and to something I never expected—falling ridiculously hard for a man who’s getting on a plane to America when I live a world away.

My life is here. His is there. And no amount of falling or feeling will change that one big problem.

Warning: contains hot hotel sex, loads of dirty talk, PDA all over London, and two sexy, witty, charming alpha heroes…

This is the first book of Blakely’s I’ve read/listened to, and I think it’s fair to say that I’ll be going back for more soon. I haven’t come across a ton of MM romances that have grabbed my attention, but in my search for something new to listen to, this one succeeded. A nice bonus, it featured one of my favorite romance narrators, Shane East. I also got to meet the wonderful Joe Arden (Shane’s interest in the story) and together, they certainly didn’t disappoint.

A Guy has everything you’re looking for in a contemporary romance. I enjoyed a fun, fast-paced plot, intense chemistry, a few laughs, a steamy love story, and most importantly – a wonderful cast of characters.

Dean and Fitz are explosive fireworks right from the start, and the reader knows they will fail miserably at a ‘no-strings-attached’ fling. Still, we can’t help but enjoy their pursuit of one another, the jokes and jabs, and finally – the moment when they both cave to temptation. Every moment of this story is so worth the adventure with these two hotties.

In the audible version, as mentioned earlier, we get the pleasure of having this tale told to us by the amazing Shane East and Joe Arden, and somehow, they kick the chemistry level into ‘off-the-charts’ territory. If you grab the audio book version of this story, I can’t recommend heading to twitter and following these two there. Their witty, dirty banter continues often and you can stay in your Dean and Fitz bubble as long as your heart desires.

If you’re in the mood for a modern romance that’s super sexy, funny, charming, and still has a fair amount of drama with these two men, get yourself a copy of A Guy Walks Into My Bar. You’ll love every passionate minute!

Until next time, happy reading! xx
