All We Want

Hey there, bookworms and happy-almost-Wednesday. Thankfully, we’re already approaching the middle of the week and getting closer to the weekend, and I’m not sure about you, but I’m so ready for the weekend.

I’m not sure how long tonight’s review post will be because I was awake until after 3 a.m. reading a page turner of a book and stressing about a semi-emergency dentist appointment I had early this afternoon. Needless to say, I am ridiculously tired, had to deal with work and a 2 hour meeting after sitting in an exam chair for over an hour, and I have 5 shots of procaine wearing off which means that I’m in a bit of pain (okay.. kind of a lot) and my face feels a little frozen. That being said, let’s power through and chat about a book! I’m ready to talk about All We Want by J. Daniels!

Luke and Tessa Evans are solid.

They’re crazy in love and in this forever, and now, they’re anxiously awaiting the next step.

Children.

But when month after month ticks by with nothing but disappointing news, and the stress gets too much to take, their relationship will be tested in ways it’s never been tested before.

When all they want is something they might never have, will their love for each other be enough?

So, confession time. I read this book back in February when I was serving jury duty and I’m only getting to review it now. At this point, I shouldn’t be surprised but, here we are.

I adored the Alabama Summer series by J. Daniels. This one is book 6 so you’ll definitely have to check out books 1-5 first before enjoying the continuation of one of our favorite romantic gangs. If you want to know more about this series, check out my reviews of books 1-4 here and book 5 here.

All We Want gives us the next chapter of Luke and Tessa’s story from book 2, All I Want. These two had their fair share of ups and downs, but now that their lives seem very much on the up-and-up, they want what’s next… to start a family.

Unfortunately, it seems to be easier said than done, and the journey to have a child is testing their relationships in more ways than they imagined. They’re surrounded by loving couples raising their sweet nephews and nieces so Luke and Tessa can’t help but long to add to their family.

Since this novella is on the shorter side, I don’t want to say too much because then I’ll want to give something away, but I will say that that for 200ish pages, there was a rollercoaster of emotions I had to process. Through all the roads leading to parenthood, this duo proves time and again how much they need one another as a support system in order to live out their happily ever after.

Throughout their trials and tribulations, they fight for one another and remain as close and as sexy as ever. Even after marriage, their chemistry is off the charts and though their attempts to start a family don’t go as planned, they remain a force to be dealt with against the world.

The whole cast of characters shows up in this book and since I had been away from the Alabama gang for awhile, it was so nice to catch up with them and see where life has brought them as I was put through the ringer with Luke and Tessa’s next chapter.

If you’re looking for a new group of book boyfriends, and haven’t met the men of Alabama, you need to do yourselves a favor and grab copies of books 1-6 of this series and just binge for awhile and enjoy every minute. This gang of friends is Intense, wacky, sexy as all hell, and will have you falling in love right from the start.

Until next time, happy reading!
