Walland/Seeds of Intention (Hesse Creek #1 & #2)

Hello there, bookworms! It’s been quite awhile since I’ve gotten anywhere near this place to give you guys an update or a book review. All I can say is that life has been utter insanity and it put quite a cramp in my reading schedule and delayed all of my posting. I apologize profusely (as I seem to do quite a bit), but hey, Christmas is right around the corner, so at least there’s some festive times ahead! Whether you celebrate, or celebrate any other holiday, my fingers are crossed for you to get all the books and bookish treats you’ve been asking for this year!

The good news about a hiccup in my posting is that I’m bringing you not one but two book reviews tonight. Rather than blab away (see what I did there?), I thought I’d just jump right into my review(s) of some seriously beautiful books! Honestly, from the covers to the words filling the pages, I was utterly head-over-heels for this series, and I know you will be too!

So, just over a month back (I think. To be honest, I’m absolutely terrible with time) , a lovely literary agent contacted me via Twitter about sending some books my way to review. Of course I accepted and next thing I knew, I was receiving a sweet swag package in the mail with some stunning novels now in my hands (which I’m eternally grateful for!! Thank you!!). I had never read anything by Andrea Thome before, but now, having read the two books I’m going to talk about tonight, I can’t wait to read more! While I wait for book three in the Hesse Creek series to make it’s debut, let’s chat about the first two installments, Walland and Seeds of Intention.

In Walland, I had the privilege of meeting India, a well-known news anchor who had just called off her high profile wedding and was in search of some much needed R & R with her best friend at a resort in beautiful Tennessee. When her friend is forced to bail last minute due to a sick child, Indie decides she needs to follow through and make her way to Blackberry Farm alone. It’s when she bumps into the gorgeous and sweet Wyatt at the airport that luck seems to find her and she begins to live again. The pair dance around each other awhile and have pasts they have to face in order to live the future they want, so they have to decide if their choices are worth it. If they give in to one another, they’ll get their happily ever after, and if they don’t, they get a few magical days on a lush farm to enjoy one another before returning to the lives they once knew before they met.

Filled with a colorful cast of characters and a stunning vision of this luxury retreat, Thome created a world I fell into and lost myself in completely. I adored Indie, Wyatt, and the whole gang running the farm. I never wanted to leave. Being in Walland was pure magic!

My Final Rating: four out of five stars

Seeds of Intention is book two in the Hesse Creek series. Here, I not only got more time with Wyatt and Indie in their next chapter of life, but I got to know Wyatt’s right hand man, Garrett more. I was briefly introduced to him in the first book and learned how much he enjoyed his love of planting and farming from the farm’s resident heirloom star, Finn. After a health scare leaves Finn in need of some down time, he officially passes the torch to Garrett to take over the coveted position. His dream job combined with his plans to spend the rest of his life with his girlfriend have Garrett on cloud nine.

Willow found herself in The Smoky Mountains with a new job as GM at Blackberry Farm. Fresh off a breakup, and with a sick father to care for, Willow is ready to immerse herself in work and make some new friends. What (or rather, who), she didn’t count on was one, Garrett Oliver.

When he finds himself suddenly single, Garrett can’t help but not only feel a little sad, but also take notice of his new boss. No matter what they do, or how professional they try to remain, Willow and Garrett can’t help but feel this pull towards one another and decide to explore what that may mean.

Adventure and romance ensues, and another beautiful story was created. I loved every minute of being back on the farm with everyone I grew to care for in book one. Not only that, but I got to travel with Willow and Garrett when the farm gets an opportunity to head west in hopes of expanding the brand of Blackberry. I enjoyed the beauty of the wilds of Tennessee living while also getting myself snowed in with this lovely couple out in Colorado.

As with book one, I savored every damn minute I spent in this world and I’m all but chomping at the bit for book three in the series. I can’t have it in my possession soon enough!

Do yourselves a favor over this winter break, and go meet some handsome and lovely country boys. They’ll absolutely melt your heart and introduce you to two gorgeously told stories!

Until next time (which won’t be long off, I promise), Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy Reading!!
