Twisted Palace (The Royals #3)

Good evening, my bookworms. Friday is nearly upon us, and I could not be more thrilled to see this week take a hike. I’ve had a heavy heart the past few days, and I’m over the emotions.

I believe I mentioned in my last post, that I lost one of my beloved pets of eighteen years in the early hours of Monday morning, and then on Tuesday, life in America changed as we know it. I won’t say too much as I don’t want to alienate people if I don’t have to, but I thought by day’s end, I’d see history being made as we ushered in our first female president, and needless to say, I’m appalled at the results and I’m terrified for my future, the future of women, minorities, the LGBTQ+ community, my family, friends, etc. I guess time will tell.

Anyway, I’m anxiously awaiting the weekend and some much-needed mental rest. I’ve been getting a handful of books done. Not as quickly as I like, but adulting does love to get in the way. Luckily, I got to spend some time with Reed Royal in the latest installment of The Royals series by Erin Watt entitled, Twisted Palace.

This was an interesting and dramatic end to The Royals trilogy. This whole series didn’t go at all the way I had expected it too after I had finished book one, but it was a thrilling series that kept me turning the pages quickly.

Reed is amazing (as usual). Even when he’s being accused of murder, the guy knows how to be pure alpha 24/7, which of course, I’m not complaining about.

Ella is a total spitfire, and she has been since book one. I was proud of her every single time she stood up to the bullies around her, whether they were at home, or in school. Having Reed support her only made it that much better. Her undying support for him in return is the exact reason why they were so wonderful together.

The minute Steve showed up, I knew something was wrong. I never liked him and I never trusted him. Ella sensed the same and knew to keep herself sharp around him.

I loved the mix of steam, high school drama, an unexpected crime, and the angst of the bold and the beautiful mingling together to make these pages really come to life!

My Final Rating: four out of five stars
