Happy Friday, bibliophiles! I’m sitting in my office, struggling to keep my eyes open, even though I fell asleep at 10:30 last night, but at least I get to bring you my latest review to kick off the weekend! Yay! Let’s just dive right into Lover Revealed, book four in the Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward.
I’ve been a sucker for Butch since book one, so I’m glad I finally got to his story. He’s not quite number one.. so far, that spot goes to Rhrage, but it’s up there.
The only human to infiltrate the compound of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, Butch, aka, Brian O’Neal, is on the outside looking in. Ever since he found himself on administrative leave from the police force, he’s felt like nothing more than a well-kept pet to the brothers. While they think of him as family, Butch just knows there’s more waiting for him.
I loved him and Marissa together, even though Marissa’s inexperience kind of causes her to make silly decisions and not communicate properly when the couple hit their snags. Butch is guilty of doing the same. I definitely had to keep from yelling at the pages a time or two.
I was never really on board with the story of the lessers. It bores me, but I know we need conflict here in the world of the brothers. Unfortunately, I can’t help it and I do find myself skimming over those parts of the story. Whoops.
After I catch up on some ARCs I’m in desperate need of getting to, I’ll pick up with book five and the next brother adventure.
My Final Rating: four out of five stars
